A Taipei Story with Elephants

https://canva.link/9zqc2yosmo9uvd1

Taipei had big parades on two nights. People came from all over Taiwan and
the world. Musicians played music. Dancers danced on the street.

Three big elephants walked on the street with them! The elephants' heads
slowly went up and down. Their big ears slowly moved. A rider sat on each
elephant!

The elephants are not real. They are very big puppets! The parade had bird
puppets too. People made these puppets move.

Artists from France made this parade 18 years ago. The elephant puppets
walked in 30 cities in 8 countries! Each time, the artists made the parade
about the city.

The parade in Taipei was about Taipei and the Taipei Zoo! Forty years ago,
the zoo moved. It moved the animals in a big parade! Twenty buses carried big
elephants, tall giraffes, and more. Many people came to watch. Maybe someone
you know watched too!

And maybe some people watching the elephant puppets remembered Lin Wang. This
elephant was in the zoo parade. Everyone loved him!

People loved the elephant and bird puppets from France too. They loved the
music and the dancing. The second night was the 100th time the parade was
done! People sang a birthday song!

The artists made a Taipei story with their elephant puppets. Taipei will
remember these parades for a long, long time!
